Abstract |
The analysis of the shape of the maximal expiratory flow volume curve was done amongthe patient with 20 normal group, 10 chronic obstructive pulmonary disease group, 10 restrictive lung disease group and 3 extra-thoracic large airway obstruction group. The results were as follow.
1) Normal group, COPD group, restrictive lung disease group and extra-thoracic large airway obstruction group showed characteristic configuration of the maximal expiratory flow volume curve. respectively.
2) COPD group showed small PF and FVC. and the configuration of the curve showed rapid reduction of flow rate after PF and deep inflexion to the volume axis.
3) In restrictive lung disease group. the configuration of the curve was similar to normal group and different only in scale of the parameters.
4) In the extra-thoracic airway obstruction group. the configuration of the curve showed prolonged plateau after PF and short ascent segment and lower descent segment. |
