SUSCEPTIBLELlTY TEST OF MYCOBACTERIUM SPECIES TO DECONTAMINANTS

Abstract
In the present paper, susceptibility test with Mycobacterium species including the atypical acid fast bacilli isolated in Korea and U.S.A. and various kinds of other species of mycobacteria to variety of decontaminants (4% Sodium hydroxide .5% Sulfuric acid and 0.1% Malachitc green) was performed. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. AII tested mycobacteria showed almost the same degree of resistance to 0.1% Malachite green. 2. Scolochrornogcns among atypical acid-fast bacilli and saprophytes which were sensitive to KarlPreis test and Lower in virulence to experimental animals, were more sensitive to alkali than acid
