Abstract
Silicotic lung of rats were prepared by infusion of free silica particles through the trachea and after 2 months, unclassified mycobacteria were inoculated intravenously, and obeservations were carried out on the weight of whole body and various organs (lung, liver, spleen and kidney), the isolation rate of the organisms from each organs and the pathological change of the lungs. The results obtained were as follows: 1) Although the body weight was reduced, the weight of the lungs, liver and spleen were increared. 2) The isolation rates of mycobacteria from each organs showed higher than those of non-silicotic rats. 3) The lung showed some pathological change. 4) Photochromogen was highest change among them and decreased in order of nonphotochromogen, tubercle bacilli, rapid grower and scotochromogen.
