Abstract
For the purpose of evaluating the lung fimction of silicotuberculosis of 47 coal miners. we measured lung volume, ventilatory capacity and diffusion capacity. The results are summerized as follows; 1) Duration(years) of work in most of coal miners was 10-19 years, as increasing category consist with largr opacity of radiographic findings. 2) For lung volume. it is apparent that the subject with obstruction had higher RV and TLC in category 1,2,3 than those without obstruction significantly and even nonobstructive subject also had increased lung volume. 3) For ventilatory capacity, %FEV1 in category 3 was 65 . 8 ± 12. 8 %, which is significantly lower than those of category 1 & 2, and noted obstructive pulmonary defect. 4) For relationship of diffusing capacity to size of radiographic opacity, in r size opacity 85.0±20.0%, which was lower than those of p or q size of opacity but not significantly.
