Abstract
Two cases of cavitary pulmonary tuberculosis with persistant positive tubercle bacilli due to resistant strain were treated succesfully with artificial pneurnothorax under chemotherapy. Bacilli were converted 3 weeks after starting artificial pneumothorax on smears and cultures by sputum examination. Duration of closure of cavities is variable ranged from 2 months to 7 months. We feel that in some instance, when no other measure is likey to be useful, articial pneumothorax is considered to be one of the effeetive treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis.
