Abstract
Skeletal tuberculosis is an uncommon condition in Korea. Tuberculosis of the sternum was rare and has been reported to be developed in 1% of patients. A 16-year-old female patient was admitted to our hospital for pain and swelling on upper sternal area. Chest CT scan revealed a sternal necrosis, expansile cortical diverticulum, and pre-and poststernal soft tissue swelling on upper sternal area The sternal biopsy revealed a typical chronic granulomatous inflammation consistent with tuberculosis. A brief review of the literature was given.
