Abstract
Bronchogenic cysts are benign tumors of ventral foregut origin caused by abnormal budding of the tracheobronchial tree. When abnormal budding occurs early in bronchial development, the cysts occurs in the mediastinum; if they occur later, in the lung parenchyme. Many reports of bronchogenic cysts in various sites have been in the literature but rare in this country. We report a 13-year-old man who had a congenital bronchogenic cyst in the left lung parenchyme and treated by surgical resection.
