The Clinical effects of PZA-INA combined therapy for the advanced Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients following long-term Chemotherapy

Abstract
The results have been presented of the PZA-INH treatment in a group of 22 patients with far advanced, cavitating pulmonary tuberculosis. These Patients had previously received long-term chemotherapy inc1udipg INH. (1) The radiological evaluations were not impressive, and there were only 4 case3 showing slight improvement, 3 cases deteriorated after 5-6 months of PZA-INH treatment. (2) The occurrence of negative sputum over 6 months was observed in 5 patients, among which 3 case3 showed recurrence of positive sputum after 8-9 months of negativity. (3) Among 12 patients, 6(50%) had a decrease in cough, 9(75%) had a decrease of expectoration, 4(33%) had an increase in appetite, 2 (17%) had an increase in weight and 2 febrile case3 (38℃), the temperature returned to normal in 1-2 months of treatment. (4) Evaluating the side reactions : 3 case3 showed mild joint pain for a short period and 1 case developed jaundice after 5 months of treatment.
